Fowey Christmas Market 4-5th December.
Please see the DME Event Listing Page for the latest booking information
Deborah Martyn Events Ltd is pleased to announce that, following a tendering process, we have been awarded the contract to run and operate the Official Fowey Christmas Market to be held on 4-5th December 2010. Some of our regular exhibitors will remember that we originally operated this market in its first two years of existence (2005-2006) and we have now been asked to take control of the event once again. The Fowey Chamber of Commerce were disappointed that, in 2009, the market was moved from the centre of the town where it was originally positioned, to the leisure centre on the outskirts of Fowey and, as a result, withdrew their association with the market last year. Consequently, the operation of the market was put out to tender and DME Ltd were the preferred applicants.
We have therefore been tasked with returning this market which, when we ran it, was very successful, to its rightful position on Town Quay in the heart of the town and at the centre of the Christmas festivities in this delightful venue. As such, along with our partners at Aussie Marquees, we will be erecting marquees for this event on Town Quay and will shortly be in a position to take bookings from high quality food, arts, crafts and gifts exhibitors and traders. Our colleagues at Round the Clock will be providing the security arrangements. The Chamber of Commerce is going to be putting its resources and energy into supporting the market and ensuring that visitors to Fowey remain in the centre of the town throughout the weekend. It has been arranged for both the Land Train and Town Buses to transport customers between the Car Parks and Town Quay. As we inaugurated this event in 2005 we are very pleased to have the opportunity to re-establish our links with Fowey and to add this event back into our calendar, which as many of you know, already includes two of the best trading opportunities in Cornwall and Devon; the Dartmouth Royal Regatta Shopping Village and the Truro Victorian Christmas Market. To reflect this we have decided to offer this event to the trading community at 2007 prices. That’s right, we are offering a 2010 event at the price that we would have charged if we had operated the show in 2007! Therefore the cost for a single space in the marquee will be just £120.00 plus vat for the weekend.
Saltram House (Plymouth) Christmas Food & Drink Fair
DME have been running this event at this delightful National trust property for six years and it is consistently one of the best shows in our programme. For the past two years the show has had to be closed early as most of the traders had sold out! Spaces for this event are very limited and demand is high. If you want to ensure that you have a place at this Fair then you are advised to book early. The booking form will be on our website soon.
Grand Victorian Christmas Fair
Grand Victorian Christmas Fair Booking Form 2010.
Now, it might be unseemly to be boasting, but we feel that this event is actually the best in the Westcountry over the Christmas period. With 80 exhibitors in some wonderful Victorian costumes, an animal pen, an in-house café and seating area and an eclectic mix of food, drink, arts, crafts and high quality gifts all housed in a heated marquee we believe that the atmosphere sets just the right tone for Christmas celebrations. Add to that our late night shopping and Saturday entertainment of stilt walkers, Town Crier and assorted musicians then you have what it takes for a memorable shopping experience.
Not only do we attract the local custom that is so important to us but national coach companies are now booking trips to visit Truro during the Victorian Fair – some come from as far away as Scotland, Cumbria and Wales. All of which helps to boost our local economy and generate sales for exhibitors.
Bookings for the Grand Victorian Christmas Fair are contingent on exhibitors undertaking three other events with Deborah Martyn Events during 2010. All participants must wear Victorian period costume for the duration of the event.

Christmas Street Markets
These are held on the late night shopping evenings in the run up to Christmas. They are under canvas in the main shopping street of Truro – Boscawen Street. The first one coincides with Santa and his reindeer parading through the city and each event attracts a high footfall from customers keen to make Christmas present buying special.
We are keen to maintain our reputation for quality and value for money so invite submissions of interest from traders who feel that they have something special to offer.
Booking forms for the Christmas Street Markets will be available from the end of September – beginning of October.
If you are interested in being considered for a street market stall please email your expression of interest along with a JPEG and description of what products you sell.
Please note: Because of the nature of these events it is not possible to refund monies paid for Christmas Street Markets (see Terms and Conditions). Traders therefore make bookings for Christmas Street Markets on the understanding that they are at their own risk and no refunds will be due.
Dartmouth Royal Regatta Shopping Village
Please see the DME Event Listing Page for the latest booking information
The Shopping Village has become an integral part of Dartmouth Royal Regatta. This event takes place during late August and attracts an estimated 100,000 visitors over Regatta Week.
The Shopping Village is sited in a magnificent marquee on the waterfront in Coronation Park. The main hall is dedicated to arts, crafts and gifts with the food hall being representative of some of the best locally produced food and drink. We also have an open-air café area serviced by local food traders and with the park and ride dropping off at our doorstep it makes it an ideal location for visitors.
We have worked hard to ensure that, whilst there is something for everyone, only the finest quality art, craft, food and drink make it into the marquee.
We operate an invitation only policy for this prestigious event but welcome expressions of interest from new exhibitors. If you have not attended this event before then please email us with some JPEGs and a comprehensive description of your product.
